Currently Michigan has no state wide legislation for practicing massage, but most individual cities have their own regulations.

The majority of these require the therapist to be nationally certified (NCE).

Graduates from Irene’s are eligible to take the NCE.

We encourage all of our graduates to take the NCE to provide themselves with recognition and credentials.

State Licensure Bill

Irene's Myomassology Institute is working with a coalition of therapists, schools and professional massage organizations to enact state licensure for massage. Irene's is dedicated to protecting the interests of our graduates and believes this effort is important to the massage therapy profession by assuring a fair licensing process is made the law in Michigan.
